Most of the swans and ducks are dead now, water is heavily polluted and its been taken over by gulls and pidgeons. The local council do very little to maintain this once beautiful amenity. Its a shame on the city for allowing this to happen.
Its impossible to imagine that most of the swans \ ducks are dead due to the Lough being polluted. It was a wonderful place, certainly the jewel in the crown for the city. The photographs in this particular post give just a tiny glimmer of how teaming with life the Lough was.
I have never seen more than two swans in a pond before. How amazing. Great shots!
Reminds me of princess and the frog movie. Nice photos of the swans. they are beautiful
They are certainly majestic creatures and beautifully streamlined.
Would love to visit Ireland one day. And thank you Daniel for liking my last post š
Seems like they enjoy the spraying water from the fountain.
Just beautiful! Lovely pictures.
There is something wonderful about swans !!
He looked, He saw and he said, I am a swan. Oooooooh, I am not such an ugly duckling after all. DAN
Wonderful pictures!
You’ll have to google the old irish legend “The Children of Lir”. You’ll never look at swans in the same way again.
I remember learning about that in school many year ago. Thanks for jogging the memory.
I’ve never seen so many swans either! I especially love the 3rd photo down.
Glad you like them š Will probably post some more swans in the future. Thanks for the comment & visit.
