Charles Fort is a star shaped fortification located in Kinsale just south of the village of Summer Cove. The site is just one of the National Monuments of Ireland. Opening hours, admission fees and so forth can be found online at heritageireland.ie.

Nice landscapes, that fort makes for a very interesting subject!
It certainly is a great spot, thanks for dropping by.
I would love to see those old buildings someday. There is a beauty in the way they are starkly built into the land, and seem like part of it.
The entire fort really does look as though its a part of the landscape, the coastal regions of Cork have some beautiful scenery. Thanks for the visit and comment
Such fantastic photographs Daniel. My mind immediately went to Machu Picchu as they both have a similar look. Ireland is quickly rising on my list of places to visit, and all because of these fantastic photographs you post.

Glad to hear you are enjoying the photographs of Ireland, I will have to certainly dig up a few more for future posts. Kinsale is well known for its beautiful scenery. Thanks for stopping by once again. Daniel.
It was my pleasure. I have included a link to you post on my Facebook page as well. I think many of my friends will enjoy your pictures and posts.
All the best.
Scott
Wow, that’s great, I have to admit that I haven’t ever considered signing up to Facebook. It must be approaching the one billion Facebook users by now. Regards, Daniel
It’s very nice actually. I have Facebook, Twitter all tied to my blog. When I post something, it automatically will post to both and vice versa. In fact if you look along the right hand side of my blog, You’ll see “Most recent tweets”. Those are fed back and forth from all communication vehicles. it’s a great way to share your posts with people who may not find your blog.
Anyhow,
Happy Travels
I know many people love Facebook and have it tied it with all their social media channels. Perhaps some day I may just decide to sign up !!
Very nice captures . . . and interesting place, if a bit crowded for my tastes.
There was a few more people than what you saw in the photographs lurking around. This set of photos were taken on Monday 1st May 2006, so it may have been just a quite day.
Great photos. I love old buildings.
Glad you like the photos, thanks for stopping by and the comment. They just don’t create building like they used to any more.
such a lovely place
It certainly is, thanks for stopping by.
Thanks for liking my blog (through the round window). Lovely to get feedback from so close to home – I studied architecture at RGU so love your photos of the fort!
Glad you like the photos of the fort, will probably post some image of the new build at RGU in the coming few days.
I visited Charles Fort two years ago. It was such a lovely place to take photos. I’m impressed with all of your wonderful captures! (And they make me nostalgic for a place I miss very much.)
It certainly is a great spot for photography, glad you like the photos, thanks for the visit and comment.
Hi Daniel… I’ve noticed you’ve stopped by and ‘liked’ some of my posts, but I kept tripping over your more technical stuff here the first few times I came to take a look. Today I set out with a bit more determination and finally found my way to your photos. Very nice. I especially like the Eye so far. Thanks for stopping by over in my corner…
